The FLL /jrFLL team for the 2011 Season has been released, and is called Food Factors.
Challenge description as released by USFIRST: “Can teams improve the quality of food by finding ways to prevent food contamination? In the 2011 Food Factor Challenge, we will explore the topic of food safety and examine the possible points of contamination our food encounters – from exposure to insects and creatures, to unsterile processing and transportation, to unsanitary preparation and storage – then find ways to prevent or combat these contaminates. In the Food Factor Challenge, teams will build, test, and program an autonomous robot using LEGO® MINDSTORMS® NXT to solve a set of Food Safety missions as well as research, develop, and share their innovative food safety solutions.”

FLL CoeBotics Team Practices (3rd – 5th Grade):
- Practice twice a week from 3:00 -5:00PM starting in September through mid December
- Practice every day in first two weeks of December
- Competition events Saturday November 12th (CoeBotics Robotics Festival), Saturday December 3rd and December 10th
Our current practice schedule is: Group I: Mondays and Thursdays Group II: Tuesdays and Thursdays This means on Thursdays all teams are practicing together. This is deliberate, to foster cross team sharing, this makes for a ‘big’ group however there are three of us adults helping the teams, and we will call in additional help as needed!
The Game for this year
It is our general consensus that it is a hard game this year, involving many small objects and a lot of precise driving with the robot! Here are some pictures of our current field setup.
